چکیده

We consider examples Aλ = A + λ(φ, · )φ of rank one perturbations with φ a cyclic vector for A. We prove that for any bounded measurable set B ⊂ I, an interval, there exists A,φ so that {E ∈ I | some Aλ has E as an eigenvalue} agrees with B up to sets of Lebesgue measure zero. We also show that there exist examples where Aλ has a.c. spectrum [0,1] for all λ, and for sets of λ’s of positive Lebesgue measure, Aλ also has point spectrum in [0, 1], and for a set of λ’s of positive Lebesgue measure, Aλ also has singular continuous spectrum in [0, 1].

Singular Continuous Spectrum under Rank One Perturbations and Localization for Random Hamiltonians

We consider a selfadjoint operator, A , and a selfadjoint rank-one projection, P, onto a vector, 9, which is cyclic for A. In terms of the spectral measure dp;, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for A + A P to have empty singular continuous spectrum or to have only point spectrum for a.e. A. We apply these results to questions of localization in the oneand multi-dimensional Anderson m...

Operators with Singular Continuous Spectrum, Iv. Hausdorff Dimensions, Rank One Perturbations, and Localization

Although concrete operators with singular continuous spectrum have proliferated recently [7,11,13,17,34,35,37,39], we still don’t really understand much about singular continuous spectrum. In part, this is because it is normally defined by what it isn’t — neither pure point nor absolutely continuous. An important point of view, going back in part to Rodgers and Taylor [27,28], and studied recen...

An Overview of Nonlinear Spectral Unmixing Methods in the Processing of Hyperspectral Data

The hyperspectral imagery provides images in hundreds of spectral bands within different wavelength regions. This technology has increasingly applied in different fields of earth sciences, such as minerals exploration, environmental monitoring, agriculture, urban science, and planetary remote sensing. However, despite the ability of these data to detect surface features, the measured spectrum i...

On the relations between the point spectrum of A and invertibility of I + f(A)B

Let A be a bounded linear operator on a Banach space X. We investigate the conditions of existing rank-one operator B such that I+f(A)B is invertible for every analytic function f on sigma(A). Also we compare the invariant subspaces of f(A)B and B. This work is motivated by an operator method on the Banach space ell^2 for solving some PDEs which is extended to general operator space under some ...

Equivalence up to a Rank One Perturbation

This note is devoted to the spectral analysis of rank one perturbations of unitary and self-adjoint operators. We study the following question: given two cyclic (i.e., having simple spectrum) operators A and B, when is A equivalent to B up to a rank one perturbation? More precisely, when does there exist a unitary operator U such that rank (UAU∗−B) = 1? As usual, we are looking for an answer in...
